Culver: Area Students to Watch a Live Unveiling of Tyrannosaurus-Rex From Germany
WHAT: Rep. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-Northumberland/Snyder) plans to join nearly 500 area elementary school students to watch the live unveiling of “Tristan,” a Tyrannosaurus-Rex exhibit, from the Naturkunde Museum in Berlin, Germany. Last year, some of the students participated in a related workshop at the Sunbury Community Hospital, coordinated by Barry and April James, who co-own Prehistoric Journeys in Sunbury. Barry explained and shared some of the rare T-Rex bones with the kids before CT scans were conducted. This group of students has been following the restoration, and will now be able to watch the unveiling of the dinosaur via web streaming from Germany.

WHO: Rep. Culver; second-and third-grade students and teachers from Shikellamy School District; and Barry and April James.

WHEN: Thursday, Dec. 17. Skype session will begin at 1 p.m.

WHERE: Shikellamy High School Auditorium,600 Walnut St., Sunbury.
