Culver Invites Public to Shikellamy State Park Complex Presentation
SUNBURY – In an effort to ensure residents of the 108th District are familiar with information related to the 2014 boating and marina schedule at the Shikellamy State Park Complex before summer arrives, Rep. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-Northumberland/Snyder) will host her annual public meeting on Thursday, May 15, at 6 p.m., at the Degenstein Community Library, located at 40 South Fifth St., in Sunbury.

John Clifford, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ new manager at Shikellamy State Park, will provide an overview of the 2014 park complex, current and future plans for the marina, and information about seasonal activities scheduled to happen at the park.

Culver and Clifford will be available before and after the meeting to answer any related questions from the public.

“The Shikellamy State Park Complex is a great local resource that we have in our district, and this meeting will allow area folks who use the park to be able to ask questions, and hear information before summer arrives,” said Culver.

Shikellamy State Park is in Union and Northumberland counties. The 78-acre Shikellamy Overlook section is on the western shore of the Susquehanna River and overlooks the confluence of the west and north branches of the Susquehanna River. The 54-acre Shikellamy Marina section is in Northumberland County, between the Borough of Northumberland and the City of Sunbury on the southern tip of Packer’s Island, at the confluence of the West Branch and North Branch Susquehanna River.

Culver operates a full-time district office in Sunbury at 106 Arch St. The office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information on this year’s meeting, or any other state-related issue, call Culver’s district office at 570-286-5885, or visit or
