Dates Set to Kick Off a Busy Fall Outreach Schedule, Culver Says

Senior forum, town hall meeting and legislative breakfast planned

SUNBURY – In continuing her efforts to reach out to residents in all parts of the 108th District, Rep. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-Northumberland/Snyder) will host several constituent outreach events in the upcoming weeks, including her 2013 Fall Senior Forum.

The 2013 Fall Senior Forum will be held on Thursday, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m., at Nottingham Village Retirement Center, in the Great Room, located at 60 Neitz Road, Northumberland. The issues being discussed at this fall’s forum include Medicare (specifically, information on enrollment periods, Medicare savings programs and extra help with drug costs), financial planning and irrevocable trusts.

“The topics that will be discussed at this forum are ones that were suggested after our last Senior Forum event,” said Culver. “My office receives phone calls on issues like the ones that will be discussed on a regular basis. I’m hopeful that we will have another great turnout and get more answers to several of their questions.”

Culver will host satellite office hours this week, on Thursday, Sept. 26, from 3-5 p.m., at the Snydertown Borough building, located at 36 South Main St., Snydertown. Also this week is the legislative breakfast, on Friday, Sept. 27, at 7:30 a.m., at the Ric-Mar, located at 2563 Point Township Drive, Northumberland. Culver asks that guests who are planning to attend her legislative breakfast call her district office at 570-286-5885 to RSVP.

The monthly Veterans Assistance Hours with Department of Veterans Assistance representative Randy Nosal will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Culver’s district office in Sunbury. Area veterans who wish to schedule an appointment are asked to RSVP by calling the district office.

Culver will host her next Town Hall meeting in Watsontown on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 6 p.m., at the Warrior Run Fire Company, located at 1125 Main St., Watsontown. And also that week, on Friday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., she will host more satellite office hours at the Upper August Township building, located at 2087 Snydertown Road.
