Fire Company, Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Applications Now Available, Says Culver
9/16/2013

HARRISBURG – As a member of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, Rep. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-Northumberland/Snyder) is encouraging fire companies and volunteer ambulance services throughout Pennsylvania to submit an application for the 2013-14 Fire Company, Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program.

The application period will remain open until Oct. 24.

The grants may be used for construction or renovation of a unit’s station, the purchase or repair of equipment, training or debt reduction.

Last year, area fire and ambulance organizations in Northumberland and Snyder counties received hundreds of thousands in funding from the program, which was created by the General Assembly as Act 10 of 2007.  The program is funded through state gaming proceeds.
