103rd Farm Show Kicks off Jan. 5
Celebrating one of Pennsylvania’s top industries, the Pennsylvania Farm Show near Harrisburg will kick off Saturday, Jan. 5. The show will run through Saturday, Jan. 12.

The Farm Show, which features 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits and 300 commercial exhibitors, emphasizes the importance of agriculture in daily life, highlights the latest in ag technology and advancements, and offers attractions for all ages.

Admission to the show is free, but parking is $15 per vehicle. Shuttle service is provided.

Cross and Flame Religious Awards Presented
On Sunday, Dec. 16, I had the pleasure of presenting certificates to the recipients of the Cross and Flame religious awards at the Watsontown United Methodist Church. The awards were given to deceased Pastor Robert Walker from Boy Scouting and Tonia Arnold from Girl Scouting.

The award is a prestigious religious award for commitment to scouting youth programs and devotion to the church. Cross and Flame awards are presented by the General Commission of United Methodist Men upon the recommendation of the Watsontown United Methodist Church.

New Legislative Session Begins Tuesday, Jan. 1
The Pennsylvania House of Representatives will begin the 2019-20 Legislative Session on Tuesday, Jan. 1, with members taking the oath of office.

The oath will begin at noon and the ceremony will also include the adoption of House rules, election of the Speaker of the House and a joint session with the state Senate to certify election results. Live streaming of the entire ceremony will be available here.

PennDOT Driver License, Photo Centers Closed for Christmas Holiday
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that all driver license and photo centers, including its full-service center in Harrisburg, will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday. PennDOT will also be closed Jan. 1.

Customers may still obtain a variety of driver and vehicle products and services, including all forms, publications and driver training manuals, online through PennDOT’s Driver and Vehicle Services website,
