– Rep. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-Northumberland/Snyder) would like to invite all those involved in the agriculture industry throughout Northumberland and Snyder counties to her annual Farmers Breakfast. The event will be held Friday, Feb. 22, at 9 a.m. at Christ Community United Methodist Church, located at 3939 Park Road, Selinsgrove. The breakfast is being catered by members of the church.
Senior Lab Technician Tara Caton from the Rodale Institute will be the guest speaker at this year’s event, which is being sponsored by the Susquehanna Community Bank.
“This year’s agriculture expert who will be our featured speaker will be leading a discussion on the potential benefits of, and multitude of uses for, industrial hemp and how it can put Pennsylvania farming at a competitive advantage,” said Culver. “I think the many farming investors and family farms in our district would find this to be something really revolutionary and interesting. This breakfast is also a chance for them to spend time with me and let me know their thoughts in a relaxed setting. I hope to see both familiar and new faces this year!”
Those interested in attending must call Culver’s office at 570-286-5885 to RSVP by Friday, Feb. 15.
